Optieng has been in the market for a little over a decade, but already gives letters nationally and internationally. João Lobato, CEO, has given us an interview where he explains how his company can be your choice for engineering solutions for the industry.
João Lobato worked for 20 years in an American automation company. He held the position of account manager for the pulp market.
With the onset of the economic and financial crisis that has shaken the world, its sales record declined considerably. Thus, he reached a mutual job termination agreement with the employing company and found himself in unemployment at just over 50 years of age. "Getting work at this age is complicated and in the market that I wanted no one was interested in expanding," the entrepreneur explained to us about what would 'push' him to be that.
He revealed to us that he always maintained good relations with competition, namely with companies that supply industrial equipments in Portugal, that developed in to a good professional and personal relationship and became an important support in the new venture. Another key support came from Finland:
"The Finnish government had financial support to export groups. To access them, I had to convince a group of five Finnish companies to represent in Portugal and Spain. "
So I did it, and for a year and a half, I had this support, which was very important for a company starting from scratch”.
Thus, the entrepreneur decided to bet on his own project and founded a company for the automation market, along with engineer Gomes da Costa, a friend and former client.
Optieng was born in April 2007.
